1972 WRESTLING TEAM INDUCTED INTO PIRATE HALL OF FAME
The 1972 Pirates wrestling team, coached by Glynn Moore, began their season ranked No. 1 in the state of Washington—and they proved that ranking every step of the way. The Pirates completed a perfect 29-and-0 season, including a dominant 32 to 11 victory over the second-ranked powerhouse, the Moses Lake Chiefs.
After winning the Columbia Big Nine Conference Championship, the Pirates continued their run at Regionals, advancing 8 wrestlers to the WIAA State Championships. And once they reached State, they delivered again—sending 5 wrestlers to the title match, with 3 of them bringing home State Championships.
