1972 Wrestling Team Inducted into Pirate Hall of Fame

1972 WRESTLING TEAM INDUCTED INTO PIRATE HALL OF FAME

The 1972 Pirates wrestling team, coached by Glynn Moore, began their season ranked No. 1 in the state of Washington—and they proved that ranking every step of the way. The Pirates completed a perfect 29-and-0 season, including a dominant 32 to 11 victory over the second-ranked powerhouse, the Moses Lake Chiefs. After winning the Columbia Big Nine Conference Championship, the Pirates continued their run at Regionals, advancing 8 wrestlers to the WIAA State Championships. And once they reached State, they delivered again—sending 5 wrestlers to the title match, with 3 of them bringing home State Championships.
