TODD STOTTLEMYRE INDUCTED INTO PIRATE SPORTS HALL OF FAME
Todd is a 1983 graduate of David High School .
Todd was a Big Nine League athlete for the Pirates in basketball and baseball. As a Junior Todd played basketball for Coach Gene Rostvold when the Pirates placed 3rd place in the 1982 WIAA State Championship Tournament.
As a Senior in baseball, Todd pitched for Coach Dale Ehler and helped the team earn a berth in the 1983 WIAA State Baseball Championships. Todd pitched and won the semi final game in that tournament with the Pirates placing 2nd to South Kitsap.
Out of high school, Todd passed on an opportunity being drafted by the New York Yankees and the St Louis Cardinals. Todd began an incredible run in the Major Leagues when drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1985.
He played for 15 seasons in Major League Baseball as a starting pitcher from 1988 to 2002, most notably as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays with whom he won two World Series championships in 1992 and 1993. He also played for the Oakland Athletics, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
